They have all the right credentials to become the new caretakers of the Wind Point Lighthouse.
Michael and Susan Arts of Racine met at a lighthouse in Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. They married at a lighthouse on Sullivan’s island, South Carolina.
Now they'll live in one for free, as long as they take care of maintenance and coordinate events at the lighthouse on the Lake Michigan shore just north of Racine.
The couple filed one of about 185 applications for the duty after the former caretakers announced they were moving to a house in Racine.
