With the closing of a local Ford dealership, workers and customers are left asking questions.
As we first told you Monday, Ford Representative Lydia Cisaruk says the owner of Chippewa Ford Lincoln Mercury resigned the dealership's status.
A former employee tells us about 40 employees were sent home, and says the decision "floored" many of the workers there.
Cisaruk says the closing is part of a nationwide plan and possible consolidation, but the decision with local dealerships has been voluntary.
Company leaders say customers can get their vehicles serviced at any other local Ford dealership.
"It's frustrating," said Shayla Glaza, who bought her car at the Chippewa Ford dealership a month ago. "They're closing down and you don't know how to talk to people and ask about things. All the sudden, it's like, you're on your own."
Cisaruk says it could be two to three years until Ford's plan is complete, which could mean more Ford dealerships across the country closing.
