School Safety

For many parents the wait is finally over, the kids are back in school. But with the return to classes comes the return of school buses, school crossings and a need for sharp focus from local drivers.

The Eau Claire Police Department is reminding drivers to stop when school buses have their lights flashing, and warning drivers to slow down in school zones.

Drivers can expect to be fined more than $300 for failing to stop for a school bus, and $250 for speeding in a school zone.
