The Department of Transportation is reporting a 13 percent decline in traffic deaths in Wisconsin this year than at this time in 2003.
As of September 3rd, 504 people were killed in crashes on state roads and highways, 74 fewer than last year.
The number of motorcycle crashes is also down 28 percent. Officials from the Department of Transportation cite aggressive law enforcement, a cooler spring and more safety awareness for the improvement.
