EAU CLAIRE, Wis-- A night of fine wine and Wisconsin cheese helped the local Boys and Girls Club impact thousands of lives for the better.

The Boys and Girls Club of the Greater Chippewa Valley held their annual evening of wine and cheese at Hom Furniture in Eau Claire.

WEAU 13 News General Manager Terry McHugh the clubs president was at tonight's event thanking the many supporters, including Festival Foods for its generous donations to the club.

Executive Director Sara Antonson says along with the steak and burger dinner in the fall, the wine and cheese event is the clubs other signature event for the year.

"This is our 7th wine and cheese event and it's always a wonderful time and all the proceeds go right downtown to the club to the programming, every single penny. As a matter of fact, Hom Furniture and Festival Foods donates everything you see here tonight. And we couldn't ask for better sponsors and better supporters," Antonson said.

Antonson says more than 150 kids are expected daily at the Boys and Girls Club this summer. She says the event will help buy a new water heater for the club.
