Actor James Cromwell arrested at regents meeting

(WEAU) - Actor James Cromwell was arrested at a UW Board of Regents meeting Thursday.

According to a press release from PETA, Cromwell entered the meeting to challenge regents over experiments on cats. Campus police arrested Cromwell after he showed a picture of a cat with a large metal post coming out of its head.

Cromwell is a longtime PETA supporter. Peta has called on UW-Madison to end experiments on cats.

After the arrest, the university tweeted that it wished Cromwell would have learned the benefits of UW research before he acted out.

It then attached a link to an UW-Madison article explaining its research.
