Altoona Police Dept. welcomes its first lieutenant

CITY OF ALTOONA, Wis. (WEAU) After nearly 20 years with the Sparta Police Department, Lt. Dave Livingston has now moved to the Altoona Police Department, becoming its first Lieutenant.

Livingston served the Sparta community since 1995, most recently as the Director of Operations on the department's management team.

He says he's looking forward to working with a great group of officers in Altoona.

"I've been conversing with Chief James for quite some time, and he has a good vision in line for the police department and I intend to compliment that vision by promoting policies and good teamwork with the officers are already in place," says Livingston.

The Altoona Chief of Police says the department decided to bring on a lieutenant because it's expanding and needed the extra resources.
