Altoona holds meeting over River Prairie Development

Altoona, Wis. (WEAU) -- The city of Altoona heard from people about what they want to see done with the River Prairie Development.

The workshop happened at Altoona Middle School. Late last month, the Altoona City Council approved contracts for the planning and development of River Prairie's northwest quadrant.

Altoona City Administrator Mike Golat told us some of the suggestions he has heard so far.

"People want it to be a beautiful usable space, where they can take their families. So there will be a strong public component that has access to the river," he said.

The area being talked about is 52 acres of city owned property west of Highway 53 and north of River Prairie Drive.
