Altoona forced to hand count copied paper ballots due to high turnout

Altoona, Wis. (WEAU) -- At the city hall polling site in Altoona, the Chief Election Inspectorm, Kem Dahlheimer, was forced to make paper copies of ballots and collecting them in a suitcase later Tuesday afternoon.

They got permisson from the county after some of the tables ran out of ballots. The ballots in the suitcase will need to be hand counted. They were not any extra ballots available from the county because other locations are running out as well in Eau Claire County. Dahlheimer said also the turnout for this election has been tremendous.
