Area students learn about workplace skills

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- High school students in the Eau Claire area spent the day honing the skills they need to succeed in the work place.

It was all part of Junior Achievement's program JA Success Skills.

Around 40 students got together at the Chippewa Valley Museum to work on teamwork, communication skills and learn about volunteerism.

"These are the kids that are going out and be a part of our community really soon. We're talking about juniors and seniors who are getting ready to enter the job market or go to college and they're making choices now that are going to affect them for the rest of their lives,” says Judy Ring with Community Conservation.

Students also heard from a non-profit panel about what the organizations do and how students can get involved.
