Arrest made in Chippewa Falls armed robbery

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis (WEAU) --A man has been arrested in Chippewa Falls for a January 1st robbery. Police arrested 21-year old Jesse LaForest.
Police say they responded to an armed robbery on January 1st around 5:32pm at a Chippewa Falls home.
The homeowner Michael Ferguson was home at the time but not injured. Police say there were several people involved in the robbery.
Police say this is an ongoing investigation and expect more arrests to be made. But do not believe the public is in danger.

Details of Incident:

Michael Ferguson reported a robbery involving multiple subjects entering his residence on January 1st, 2013 at 5:32 pm. Firearms are confirmed to have been present during the robbery and items were stolen from the residence. No shots were fired. Subjects then left the area.

A search warrant was served on January 4th, 2013 by the Chippewa County Combined Response Team (CRT) at LaForest’s residence in the Village of Lake Hallie. Jesse LaForest was arrested in connection to this Armed Robbery. There is an ongoing cooperative investigation between the City of Chippewa Falls Police Department, the Village of Lake Hallie Police Department, the Chippewa County Sherriff’s Office, and the West Central Drug Task Force into this incident and more arrests are possible. The investigation at this point leads us to believe that there is no danger to the community at large.
