Arrests made in Vernon Co., in relation to recent thefts

Vernon County Sheriff John Spears reports the apprehension of two people in connection with the recent thefts and criminal damage to property that occurred at the Village of Stoddard boat ramp.
On July 11th, 2012 at 2:39am a Sheriff’s Deputy found the Boat Landing fee box was damaged and entered, with no money left in the box. Along with the assistance of the Village of Stoddard, suspects were developed and apprehended.

Stanley J. Holte age 22, of Stoddard, Wisconsin was arrested on an un-related charge and taken to the Vernon County Detention Center, on July 11th, 2012. Charges are being sought through the Vernon County District Attorney’s office for Theft and Criminal Damage to Property against Stanley J. Holte and Leah M. Morgan, age 23, also of Stoddard, Wisconsin.

Sheriff John Spears would like to thank the Village of Stoddard, and Community, for their assistance in this investigation. Because of the attention of the community several crimes can be solved, just by paying attention to what is going on in your communities and reporting it to your local law enforcement agencies.

The incident remains under investigation by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office.
