People try to stay cool while working outside in the heat

EAU CLAIRE, wis (WEAU) --This week it's heating up all across western wisconsin leaving people looking for ways to stay cool.

Trevon Harris has been working up a sweat since early this morning.
“Imagine sitting indoor in 90 degrees oven on all day with about 15 people in the room thats how hot it is,” says Harris

Out here there's little refuge from the heat of the sun. By noon the temp was well in to the 80's
"It's just hot and sticky, there's not a lot of shade on this road, says Lisa Bushbeck

But 80 degrees is nothing compared to what these construction workers are feeling. The asphalt being put down is pre mixed at 300 degrees
"So standing over it is a lot hotter, but we're just laying strips so it’s not as bad as some of the big crews," says Bushbeck

However in an 8 hour day workers say it's not the temperature that gets to them.
" It's when the humidity is up thats when it's hard on the guys out here.got to drink lots of water and take a few more breaks.” Jim Fletty

Meanwhile across town even a job that may look luxurious on a sunny day can be scorching.
"You always walk where it's wet not on the super-hot cement,” says Lifeguard Matalin Binder

And when these lifeguards aren't saving lives a quick dip helps.
"It's hot but it's nice because we get to move around a lot and go in the water and there is always water in out chairs so it’s not as hot as it sounds.
