ST. PAUL, Minn. (WEAU) – A pair of Minnesota attorneys say another civil lawsuit will be filed against a pediatrician and Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire.
They plan to discuss the details with reporters on Thursday. The lawyers say the parents of two brothers, who were Dr. David van De Loo's patients, claim the clinic's negligence let Van De Loo sexually abuse the boys. Van De Loo is accused of sexually assaulting patients, and is facing more than a dozen criminal charges. A man also sued Van De Loo and the clinic last month, claiming Van De Loo sexually abused him when he was a patient from 2004 to 2011. Van De Loo was terminated from Mayo Clinic Health System in September.
In a statement, Mayo Clinic Health System – Eau Claire says that it is aware that a lawsuit may be filed on Thursday, and that “We will investigate any new information thoroughly and continue to work with families and authorities as we learn more.”
WEAU 13 News will have a crew at Thursday’s news conference. We’ll have new information on our evening newscasts and on our website.
