NEW INFORMATION: Cause of fire will remain undetermined

(WEAU) - We have new information on a fire in the town of Seymour.

Township fire tells us the house was damaged so much that firefighters aren't able to figure out what caused it. The fire started last Friday on North 50th Avenue.

Firefighters say the official cause will be listed as "undetermined" and won't be investigated further.

No one was hurt or home at the time.


(WEAU) – Crews were called to N. 50th Avenue in the Town of Seymour Friday night as flames poured out of a house.

The fire was called in around 7:30 p.m. and crews had it under control just before 9 p.m. Firefighters tell us no one was hurt and no one was home when the fire broke out.

They tell us the fire was in the area of an LP tank, so they had to secure that area before fighting the rest of the home. Township fire called for mutual aid from the Chippewa Fire District.

There's no word on the cause or the damage estimate as of Friday night.
