NEW INFORMATION: Lockdown lifted at Whitehall schools

WHITEHALL, Wis. (WEAU)-- A lockdown has been lifted at schools in Whitehall.

Whitehall Superintendent, Mike Beighley, says the school received information that the situation was under control and there was no danger to the students. He would not clarify what the situation was.

The Whitehall schools were on lockdown for about an hour and a half Thursday morning. Classes inside the schools went on as normal during the lockdown.

WHITEHALL, Wis. (WEAU) -- Schools in Whitehall are on lockdown this morning, due to a potential outside issue.

Superintendent Mike Beighley says there is no immediate threat to students or staff, adding this is a precautionary move.

He says the entire school district is on lockdown.

No word on what that potential issue is.
