Badgers face Baylor in NCAA Sweet 16 battle

MADISON, Wis. (WEAU) -- The Badgers are about to face a team coming off one of the most dominant performances in the 2014 NCAA tournament with a spot in the Elite Eight on the line.

Second-seeded Wisconsin plays against 6th-seeded Baylor in the West Region NCAA Sweet Sixteen Thursday in Anaheim, CA. The game is scheduled to start at 6:47 p.m. Wisconsin time. It will be broadcast on TBS on television, and both the Badgers Sports Network and Westwood One Sports on the radio. Wisconsin Basketball will provide live updates on Twitter, which can be found at the link on the right side of this story.

The team advanced to the Sweet Sixteen by defeating Oregon 85-77 in the NCAA Round of 32 on Saturday at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee. The Badgers beat American 75-35 on Thursday. Baylor defeated Creighton 85-55 win Sunday night to get to the Sweet Sixteen. The team defeated Nebraska 74-60 on Friday.

The Badgers have advanced to the Sweet Sixteen six times during the last 12 years. They advanced to the Elite Eight in 2005, but lost to eventual champion North Carolina 88-82 in Syracuse, NY. The team's last Final Four appearance was in 2000, when the Badgers lost to eventual champion Michigan State 53-41 in Indianapolis, IN.
