Barron Co. Sheriff's deputy in trouble with the law

BARRON COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) A local sheriff's deputy is in trouble with the law.

Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald says one of his deputies was arrested Thursday night for a domestic related crime.

He won't say who the deputy is or where the alleged crime happened, because the incident is still under investigation.

Fitzgerald says an outside county is handling that investigation, and the deputy is in custody, with formal charges pending.

The deputy is also on administrative leave.

The sheriff says more information will be released Friday morning.
