Beloit anthropology professor dies in Chile

BELOIT, Wis. (AP) -- A longtime anthropology professor at Beloit College has died while on a research trip to South America.

College spokesman Jason Hughes says Dan Shea died Tuesday after a fall in Chile, where he and five students had been since June 8.

Hughes tells the Journal Sentinel the group was scheduled to stay in Chile until June 27, but the students will return to Wisconsin as soon as arrangements are made.
