Biden, Ryan plan Wisconsin stops as race heats up

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Vice President Joe Biden and Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan plan campaign stops in Wisconsin this week, another sign that the race to win the state's 10 electoral votes is heating up.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney on Sunday began running his first ads in the state, a move designed to either help win Wisconsin or force Obama to spend more time and money there.

The two most recent Wisconsin polls done in mid-August show Obama and Romney about even. Obama easily won Wisconsin four years ago, but the state has moved to the right since then.

Ryan plans to host a town hall meeting Wednesday in De Pere. Biden campaigned last week in Green Bay and is slated to be in Eau Claire on Thursday.
