Big Brothers Big Sisters team up with Boys and Girls Club for “Club Buddy"

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) - Thursday marked the first day of a new expansion at the Boys and Girls Club in Chippewa Falls.

The Boys and Girls Club announced their teaming up with Big Brothers Big Sisters to create the new "Club Buddy" plan. This new plan will have "bigs" meet up with "littles" at the Boys and Girls Club. The program will have the pairs meet once a week for an hour.

Development and Marketing Director Christina Thrun say it takes a little pressure off of the volunteers. "It's nice for the volunteers so they don't have to come up a time to meet with their child or what they're going to do necessarily, and picking them up at their home. They're able to go to a specific site at a set date and time each week and know that there are activities there they can participate in."

Big Brothers Big Sisters are still looking for both adult and high school sophomores and juniors to volunteer.
