MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WEAU) -- A propane tank fire has caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage to a garage and home.
It happened Wednesday night on East 8th Street in Marshfield. The Marshfield Fire Department says crews responded and found smoke and flames coming from a garage that's attached to a home. All six people living at the home were evacuated before crews got there. Firefighters contained the fire to the grarage. It was severely damaged, and smoke damage was left in the home. Investigators say the man who owns the home was working in the garage when a fireball erupted near a propane tank that he was using to fire a kiln. The cause is under investigation.
Nobody was hurt. It caused nearly $60,000 in damage. Several other flamable gas tanks were in the garage at the time, but stayed intact.
