Body pulled from Mississippi River near Dubuque

DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) -- Eastern Iowa authorities say a person has died on the Mississippi River near Finley's Landing north of Dubuque.

The Dubuque Telegraph Herald reports ( ) that the death occurred Friday after four people jumped into the river around 4:45 p.m. between Finley's Landing and an island on the Wisconsin side of the river. One person did not resurface.

The Dubuque County Sheriff's Department confirms that a body has been recovered from the water. Officials have not released the victim's identity.

Several sheriff's departments from the area helped in the search.
