LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Bond was set at $100,000 cash for a La Crosse police officer accused of threatening to kill his wife and two children.

La Crosse County District Attorney Tim Gruenke says Alan Iverson, 45, of La Crosse appeared in court on Thursday. Gruenke says Iverson is accused of making the threats after his wife talked about a divorce. He could not elaborate on the threats. He says four guns were found in Iverson's home. Iverson was transferred to the Vernon County Jail.

Jackson County District Attorney Gerald Fox will act as special prosecutor in the case. No criminal charges have been filed. Gruenke says his department was forwarding the investigation to Fox on Thursday.
