ALTOONA, Wis. (WEAU) -- The Altoona Police and Fire Chief, James Small, says no update on the boys status has been given.
The remaining circumstances are still being investigated by Altoona officers.
He says the child was pulled from the water by bystanders and that a park ranger was there and began CPR immediately.
He says the ranger continued CPR until the arrival of Altoona emergency responders and Eau Claire Fire Department paramedics.
Additional information is expected to be released on Wednesday.
A boy was taken to the hospital after he was pulled from Lake Altoona.
It happened around 3 p.m. Tuesday. Altoona Police Chief, James Small, says the four-year-old boy was unresponsive, and that CPR was performed. He was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire.
Small did not have an update on the boy's condition.
