(WEAU)-We now know the names of the people involved in a fatal crash near Eau Claire Thursday evening.
The Wisconsin State Patrol says the crash happened on I-94 near the Chippewa River around 4:45pm. Troopers say one vehicle went across the median from the west bound lanes of I-94 and collided with a semi. The semi overturned, hitting the guardrail and bridge. It came to a rest blocking both lanes of traffic.
The driver of the car, Marissa A. Drew, 31, of Waukesha, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was wearing her seatbelt and there was no sign of alcohol.
The driver of the semi, Eugene Andrew Marier, 54, of Center City, MN was taken to an Eau Claire hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was wearing his seatbelt and no alcohol use is suspected.
Earlier Thursday, east bound lanes were shut down with a detour onto Highway 29 in Elk Mound. The lanes reopened shortly before 10pm.
WEAU Photographer Duane Wolter says the semi trailer was hanging off the bridge over the river.
