Independence, Wisc. (NEWS RELEASE) -- Beginning mid-day June 5, 2014, the Elk Creek bridge on Hwy 93 in the City of Independence will be closed for replacement.

The Wisconsin DOT has designated Hwy 121 to U.S. Hwy 53 to Hwy 95 as the official detour to be used during the construction.

This detour will be set from June 5, 2014 to November 26 while the STH 93 project from STH 121 East to A Street is constructed.

The new bridge is set to be complete prior to August 8, 2014. Once completed, local traffic (no trucks or overweight loads) will be allowed to cross to access the city’s local street system until completion of the STH 93 project.
