(WEAU) - The Bush Brothers and Company's Augusta plant is getting recognition for their economic impact in Eau Claire County.
The company was awarded the Paragon Economic Impact award by the Eau Claire Area Economic Development Corporation Monday. Bush Brothers and Company says they received the award because they've added 24 jobs and invested approximately $20 million into a new warehouse.
The company says they're proud of the award. Director of Operations Joe Breid told us Monday "Everyday we come to work to produce great food and to take care of our employees. We work hard doing that and when we're recognized by the outside, it's kind of special to have that recognition.”
This is the 11th year the award has been given out.
Also Monday, Governor Scott Walker announced that the company is eligible for up to $1.5 million in Economic Development Tax Credits through the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) to assist the company’s expansion.
The WEDC says the tax credits will be used to reimburse the company for a portion of its capital investment. WEDC will approve the tax credits over three years.
