Building a total loss after fire

BARRON, Wis. (WEAU)-- A fire destroyed part of a business in Barron Monday morning.

It happened around 6 a.m. at Bell Pole, which is a business that dries and treats telephone poles.

The Barron Police Department says the fire started in a kiln in one of Bell Pole's buildings. The building is a total loss and about 200 poles were damaged. The fire also spread to part of another building. There's no damage estimate yet.

Employees were evacuated and no one was hurt. Several fire departments responded and crews were on scene for several hours.
