(WEAU) - Wisconsin veterans, who were told they'd get a free trip to the Rose Bowl, are now told the trip has been canceled.
Just Tuesday, the Wisconsin Department of Veteran Affairs was told 50 veterans would get the free trip. "Badger Trips" was providing flight, hotels & the tickets. Local veterans groups scrambled to find participants.
But Wednesday, "Badger Trips" told the DVA they had to cancel the donation. Veterans groups say they already had several people lined up to go on the trip.
DVA staff says the free trips were officially offered, and then rescinded, in about 24 hours.
