CESA 10 in the running for big grant

(WEAU) - Dozens of area school districts are in the running for a major prize.

It's the race to the top competition and CESA 10 is a finalist. It represents 29 school districts in our area, from Altoona, Eau Claire, to Thorp. It's one of 61 applications in the nation to become a finalist for the money.

The winners get $5 to $40 million in grants to help improve student and teacher achievement.

There will be around 20 winners and they'll find out by New Year’s Eve.
