EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- The 2014 Eau Claire Bowl for Kids' Sake raised more than $142,000.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Wisconsin announced the total for its largest fundraiser on Monday. The organization says nearly 620 people participated. The event raises about 40% of the budget for the group. The money goes toward the cost of volunteer background checks, interviewing children, interviewing volunteers, processing applications, conducting match introductions, on-going support provided to each match, and events held for matches like a summer picnic and skating party.
Participants bowled at Wagner's Lanes last week. Precision Pipeline raised more than $42,000, and was the top fundraising business for this year's event.
