COMMUNITY FIRST: Taste of the Valley to be held Sunday at Phoenix Park

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- An event that has brought in thousands of dollars for an area non-profit organization is coming up this weekend.

The Taste of the Valley is on Sunday at Phoenix Park in Eau Claire. Dozens of restaurants and other food vendors set up shop at the pavilion and offer items like sandwiches, appetizers, and desserts in exchange for between one and four tickets that are sold at the event or in advance. There is also live music and kids activities. Admission is free. It's planned to go on rain or shine.

Some of the proceeds go to the Community Table in Eau Claire, which offers meals to people in need every day. Last year's event raised a little more than $10,000 for the organization.
