COUNTRY JAM 2012: First day recap
(WEAU) - Thousands of cowboy hat wearing concert goers have been waiting to hear Trace Adkins who jammed out Thursday night.
It’s been crazy out here as people are kicking back and enjoying some good ole country music.
On Thursday, people heard from artists like Jake Owen and Chris Young. Even Miss Rodeo Wisconsin 2012 has a booth set up on the grounds for the first time.
"It's amazing. We're having the best time ever and this is just the first day," said Debbie Hart, Detroit, Michigan.
Music and beer are all some people at Country Jam say they need to start out the first day right.
"I'm having fun. Besides the heat, its good. They got ice cold beer and the venues are good," said Jared Yakesh, Eau Claire.
"Jake Owen was amazing, was amazing. It’s really a nice setup, its being run really well," said Hart.
Even Miss Rodeo Wisconsin 2012 enjoyed the crowds and music as she taught people how to rope like they do in the rodeo.
"Country Jam is one of my sponsors this year so they in trade us being here as a booth for them to have something for who are not of 21, more family friendly entertainment," said Laura Taysom, Miss Rodeo Wisconsin 2012.
She even taught this city girl a thing or two about lassoing a steer.
"We also have the different ropings, tight on roping and team roping that was teaching people how to do," said Taysom.
She even said that more people came out than expected.
"I have to call up a few more friends tonight and get some more to come tomorrow because we did not expect this turnout which is great,” said Taysom.
Meanwhile people say they couldn't wait until Trace Adkins took the stage.
"I've seen him once before, he's a good venue he puts on a good show," said Yakesh.
While others say they can't wait until Saturday to see Jason Aldean.
"I love you Jason, please Jason marry me," said Hart.
