(WEAU) - It was a centennial celebration at the Chippewa Valley Technical College.
It was 100 years ago that CVTC was the Eau Claire vocational school that only had evening trade classes in the basement of the first ward school.
Now alumni and others around Chippewa valley are seeing the changes made to the campus by celebrating with games and even the Burger King Classic Car Show.
WEAU talked with the president of the university about the mission of CVTC.
"CVTC started in 1912, and I think it was in response to the changing economy then, and the need for more highly trained, highly skilled works and that mission has remained our mission,” said CVTC President, Bruce Barker.
After being asked if CVTC will go forth to do another 100 years, he said “We've had a 100 years of proven education and are just getting started.”
