CVTC hosts "Honoring Our Veterans" event
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Chippewa Valley Technical College hosted an "Honoring our Veterans" event Thursday afternoon.
The event began with a welcome home program, with the focus on re-integration and post-traumatic stress disorder.
There was also a veteran’s benefit fair where they were able to meet other veterans and enjoy free pizza and soda.
An organizer says these sorts of events are helpful because sometimes the information soldiers get when they come back can be overwhelming.
“Sometimes they're not aware of what's out there. They're given so much information when they come back from the service; this gives them the chance when it's in a normal setting to see what's available to them,” says Deb Ludwikowske.
The event wrapped up with a project that matched artists with vets, so they could express their stories in a visual way.
