MADISON, Wis. (WEAU) -- Cable customers now have their service restored after a near two-hour outage.

It happened late Friday morning. A spokeswoman from Charter Communications said video services customers in the Eau Claire and Onalaska areas were affected. She declined to say how many customers were left without their cable during the outage. Crews checked out the problem, and found that a server malfunction caused it.

The Onalaska area customers had their service back at about 11:45 a.m. Service was restored in the Eau Claire area about 15 minutes later.
