FRANKLIN, Wis. (WEAU) -- The Vernon County Sheriff's Department said a man fell asleep at the wheel and crashed on Thursday.

Sheriff John Spears said it happened around 11:15 a.m. near the intersection of Hwy 14/61 and County Rd. JJ in the Town of Franklin.

Spears said the crash happened when a southbound pickup truck driven by 20-year-old Kyle J. Turner of Readstown fell asleep at the wheel.

His truck crossed the center line, went into the ditch and overturned.

Spears said Turner was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and declined to be taken to the hospital.

Viroqua Police, Fire, Tri-State Ambulance and Readstown Fire all responded.
