We now know what caused a plane crash that killed two people two years ago in Jackson County.
David Holtrop and his son Maxwell were headed from the Twin Cities to Sheboygan when the plane they were in went down on June 7th, 2009.
A final report from the National Transportation Safety Board says pilot David Holtrop took off from Lake Elmo, Minnesota and flew into bad weather near Durand.
Investigators say he then lost control due to spacial disorientation and the 1978 Grumman Tiger broke up before hitting the ground at high speed.
