Changes in store for Wisconsin no-call list

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Changes are in store for Wisconsin's popular do-not-call list.

Starting in August, people who sign up their cell or home phones for the program blocking unwanted telemarketing calls and text messages will no longer have to renew every two years. And, they will be added to the list the next day instead of the following quarter.

The changes are a result of the registration moving to the Federal Trade Commission's nationwide list. Phone numbers currently on Wisconsin's list will be automatically switched over.

Phone numbers can be added to the list at the website or by calling 1-888-382-1222.
