Charter: Internet services restored following outage

(WEAU) -- After a day without internet, Charter Communications customers are once again connected to the world wide web.

Charter spokeswoman Kim Haas said services have been restored following an internet outage on Saturday.

The outage affected multiple markets across its operating area.

Social media users posted complaints on the company's Twitter and Facebook pages. The company did not immediately respond on either site.

Numerous calls to the company's customer support number rang busy.

Haas said technical teams are monitoring the network closely and continue to investigate what may have caused the outage.

A Charter Communications spokesperson said the company is working on restoring services to parts of its operating area.

There have been numerous reports from Charter Communications customers through social media and over the phone of an internet outage in parts of Wisconsin and other states.

Kim Haas, the Communications Director for the Central Pacific Region, said Charter Communications is aware of internet issues in parts of the operating area and all hands are on deck to restore its services.

She said there is no estimated time of restoration at this time. Haas said more information will be passed along as it becomes available.
