Chili Cook Off hosts chilis from all across the Chippewa Valley

HALLIE, Wis. (WEAU) -- The best chili in the Chippewa Valley was put to the test for a good cause.

The first annual Chili Cook Off was held at the Eagles Club in Lake Hallie.

WEAU's Sarah Stokes and Chris Herzog and even little Kanyon lended their taste buds in judging the competition.

Organizer Rachel Larson put on the fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Larson is one of four trying to raise $9,000 for the society and are planning to run a race for those who can't.

"There's four of us taking part in half-marathon training right now. We all have a set dollar amount that we have to raise and finish out the marathon," says Larson.

She says the marathon takes place on June 3rd in San Diego.
