CHIPPEWA COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) -- The Chippewa County Sheriff's Department has accepted a $20,000 grant to fight against drunk driving.

It says the grant from the Bureau of Transportation Safety will be used over the next 12 months to have extra patrols out on the weekends to deter drunk driving.

Also, it says because of the grant, they will have high visibility enforcement patrols 5 times during the year, which means at least 3 squads will patrol the same area at the same time.
