CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU)-- Chippewa Falls broke ground Thursday at the site of its new Visitor's Center and Chamber offices.

The new facility will be downtown at the corner of Bridge and Spring Street. It will be two stories with an open atrium.

President of the Chippewa Falls Chamber of Commerce, Mike Jordan, says it is an exciting time for the community.

"People come to the community for a variety of reasons, be it outdoors or to hit the Mason Outlet Store, or whatever it is. We'd like to get in touch with them first, up-sell the community and maybe keep them in town a little bit longer," said Jordan.

The future 5,000 square-ft. building is scheduled to be completed by the first quarter of 2015.
