EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- The Chippewa River is now expected to flood parts of Owen Park and lower sections of the Chippewa River Trail into next week.

The City of Eau Claire released a Chippewa River update Monday. It says the Chippewa River gauge at Grand Avenue in Eau Claire measured 13 feet below flood stage at 10:30 a.m. Monday. The flooding is based on the National Weather Service's current projection of when the river will crest. The city says parts of the Chippewa River Trail are flooded right now.

The city says it will keep monitoring the river and provide updates when they're needed.
