Chippewa River rising; parts of trail flooded

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Parts of the Chippewa River Trail remain flooded as the river continues to rise.

The City of Eau Claire released a flood update on Wednesday. It says the Chippewa River was about three feet below flood stage at Grand Avenue in Eau Claire. The river was 13 feet below flood stage on Monday. The city expects rain or a rain-snow mix later in the week, and believes the lower sections of Owen Park and the Chippewa River Trail will be flooded into next week.

The city will continue to monitor river conditions and provide updates as necessary. You can find more information at the link on the right side of the page.
