NEWS RELEASE FROM CHIPPEWA VALLEY AIRPORT SERVICE
EAU CLAIRE, WISCONSIN (January 16, 2012) – Chippewa Valley Airport Service has agreed to purchase Rice Lake Shuttle Service. Both companies provide scheduled shuttle service and charters to the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
Effective Tuesday, both companies will operate as Chippewa Valley Airport Service according to Dan Pekol, general manager of the Eau Claire-based company. He states, “Jeff Granum, who began Rice Lake Shuttle Service, has done an excellent job of building relationships and serving the Rice Lake area. We’ve always enjoyed a cooperative business environment and providing each other with referrals.” Jeff will stay on-board with the new company as a driver until transitioning to a new career.
To operate efficiently, the routes will immediately start meeting up in Baldwin and proceed with one van towards either Minneapolis or Rice Lake. Pekol says their goals include adding an additional round-trip route and including service on Sundays, by March 1 of this year.
This move signals the biggest growth for Chippewa Valley Airport Service since merging and subsequently purchasing Eau Claire Passenger Service in 2008.
“We look forward to greeting these new communities with the same courteous and reliable service we’ve become known for in the Chippewa Valley,” added Pekol.
