City calls for applications for committee on Comprehensive Plan

They city's website says the comprehensive plan serves as the basis for a community’s subdivision regulations, official mapping, and amendments to the Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map.  It also establishes policies and priorities regarding future development in:

  • Land Use Transportation
  • Parks System
  • Physical Character
  • Economic Development
  • Public Utilities
  • Community Facilities
  • Housing
  • Historic Preservation
  • Downtown
  • Intergovernmental Coordination
  • Sustainability 

It's also a guide for the private business sector regarding the city’s long-term strategies and priorities for the location and staging of public improvements for community facilities and infrastructure.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A city is taking applications from people interested in being part of a Citizens Advisory Committee.

The City of Eau Claire made the announcement on its website Thursday. The Plan Commission will recommend appointing 30-40 people to the group in August. It will help the Plan Commission update Eau Claire's 2005 Comprehensive Plan. Members will meet on the second Thursday of each of the following 10 months. The first meeting is September 11 at 7 p.m. The committee also includes several at-large members from the general public. The deadline to apply is July 28.
