City council selects new member

Eau Claire, Wis. (WEAU) - The Eau Claire City Council has selected their newest member.

The council appointed Catherine Emmanuelle Tuesday evening. She beat out fellow candidate Dave Strobel by a vote of 6 to 4. Emmanuelle, who also serves on the board of directors for Clear Vision Eau Claire, says she believes her strong stance on keeping local jobs helped her get the position.

The seat was vacated when Dana Wachs decided to step down to run for state assembly.
