City gives presentation about damage to trees during summer storm

Eau Claire, Wis. (WEAU) -- The Eau Claire Superintendent of Parks and Forestry talked Monday night about the damage done to the city's trees from this summer's storm.

Todd Chwala gave the presentation at the Eau Claire County UW extension office.

Back in May, the storm downed many trees in northern and western parts of Eau Claire, including many large trees at Lakeview Cemetery.

Chwala says damaged trees will continue to be taken down this winter.

"We're through with the immediate removals but there will be a number of trees we need to remove over the winter months that will no longer be viable trees but otherwise everything in this community has been stabalized. he said.

Chwala's presentation also focused on tree diseases.
